There is such a thing as too much democracy (if that's what you want to call it). I say cut out the primaries, and let the parties pick their candidates themselves, at their convention, preferably in the very late summer. Then have an intense six-week race to the White House. If people want more democracy than that , then they should support third and fourth parties. But the primaries just drag out the process for too long, and it's hard to see that we are getting better presidents out of the deal.
